Preparation Lab

The MVZ Preparation Lab is open to in-house researchers, staff and students by prior arrangement with the lab manager (Terri Barclay).  The lab is outfitted for dissection and preparation of many kinds of animals, and includes space for preparing specimen skins and skeletons, a dermestid beetle colony, a walk-in cold room and walk-in -25ºC freezer, -20ºC chest freezers, and field equipment room. This facility also has basic tools for construction of boxes, drilling holes in tags, etc. There are ample opportunities for researchers and students to gain hands-on experience working in this lab under direct supervision of the manager or a Curator.
