Pests pose a big threat to the museum and its collections and we need to work together to prevent infestations. Therefore, we ask for everyone’s cooperation to keep the collections safe by following the MVZ procedures for pest management. This entails being ultra-vigilant about storage of food/garbage, field equipment, and other materials that might introduce pests into the museum. All dry specimens (skins, skeletons, etc.) and paper products (books, fieldnotes, etc.) MUST be frozen in the Prep Lab freezer before coming into the collections.

Anyone who sees an unwanted pest should try to catch the pest in a vial and immediately notify a Curator.
